"A gem of a gym, down in the Don Valley behind Glendon..."

B Singer

A gem of a gym, down in the Don Valley behind Glendon Campus. The building and offerings are expansive. Equipment — free weights and machines — is mostly new, staff are friendly and the gym is rarely crowded. Members tend to be either York students or alumni or older folks from the area. There are few "gym bros" and I've never seen anyone filming their workouts. There is a pool with lane and rec swimming and aquasize, a quiet stretching room, spinning and other group classes, even a boxing room and golf practice room. There are squash and racquetball courts and in summer there are outdoor tennis and basketball courts. The locker rooms are clean but the showers are basic and open concept. The main strike against the GAC is that is that it's hard to get to without a car, and parking is expensive. Biking and walking there is tricky especially getting back up the hill, and the one-way road down requires cars to detour out via the Bridle path. The scenery is lovely though. Prices are very reasonable, and the gym recently announced a physio clinic opening. One good addition would be a cafe but you can't have it all!

"The club has unfortunately gone"

The club has unfortunately gone from a fun community spot to a price scalping gym. Paying for pickleball is such a joke

"I signed up for this"

I signed up for this gym a couple of months ago. The staff is amazing, and the facility is very clean and well-maintained. It’s not busy either, and the community is fantastic. I’ll bring my friends to sign up too-the gymnasium is great for basketball.

"Nestled in the bridal path"

Derek Ewen

Nestled in the bridal path valley, this is the very best secret in Toronto - with an amazing selection of highly specialized lifting bars for strength and sport functional training. Proximity to gym and pool and outdoor fields and courts excellent for sport specific tuning after or before lifting…staff always helpful and positive. Physio on site. Been going here for 40 years. My go to kid friendly home town gym. Whats more to say?

"The greatest athletic centre of"

The greatest athletic centre of its kind! Great location right by Lawrence Park. I’ve been coming here for 7 years. The staff are friendly and kind. The weight room has great equipment. I will continue to give the Glendon Athletic Club my business.
