I have been going to the Mergulho headquarters gym for over ten years and want to express my complete satisfaction with the service, from reception, where Daniella, Jessica and Joao are always kind, through to the coordination. I especially highlight the pools, which are always impeccable and kept at the right temperature for childrens and senior classes. I recommend this gym with my eyes closed for its incomparable facilities, and congratulate all the staff on their competence.

I wanted to start swimming at Academia Mergulho, but when I asked the front desk about the swimming timetable, the staff simply did not know it. They told me only the team responsible for swimming has access to the schedule, which left me puzzled, since reception is the first point of contact when you are looking to buy a service. In my opinion, not being able to give a prospective customer basic information about a service is a real lack of respect.

The gym offers excellent variety in its activities and facilities for all ages, with specific, well-designed programmes. The weight room is spacious and well equipped, and there is a CrossFit area, pools, a fitness studio, a martial arts space and a roomy Pilates studio, plus extras like physiotherapy and beauty treatments. It accepts Gympass, the location is great and the atmosphere relaxed, with attentive staff, making it an excellent, good-value option for the whole family.

I am very upset with the kids swimming programme: I enrolled my son three months ago, and since the attentive first teacher left it has been awful, with instructors paying him no attention and nothing explained to parents. They message constantly about the monthly fee, yet some reception staff are rude and unhelpful, and in the last lesson my son was left alone in the corner of the pool while the teacher attended to the other pupils. A boy who cannot yet swim left alone is unacceptable, and I would not recommend it.

I started here because it is traditional and very well located, but the first impression was frustrating. Reception was cold and unwelcoming, I was not allowed to store my bicycle, and the instructors made no effort to show a newcomer around or explain the layout. For a premium-priced gym I expected far more organised and proactive support for new members.
