"What a wonderful place. We arrived in the early evening..."

Peter Strickland

What a wonderful place. We arrived in the early evening and having settled in, sat on the terrace, with its long unobstructed view of Porlock Vale, to watch the sun set into the sea while enjoying a glass of wine. The bedroom and bathroom were both generously sized and very comfortably equipped. So much so that on Saturday afternoon, for the first time in my life, I fell asleep in a wonderfully comfortable armchair. The house itself is a beautiful, classic country house, lovingly maintained and extremely clean and comfortable throughout. The extensive garden was a delight with its tennis and squash courts and provided a very pleasant walk with long views of open rural countryside. Breakfast was a great treat: a buffet for cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and toast, followed by a wonderful selection of marvellously cooked breakfasts, served by an accomplished waitress. A memorable start to the day. I recommend Bossington Hall to anyone who wishes to enjoy glorious traditional rural England from the comforts of a country house.
