I will be cancelling my membership and not because of my own experience. I have been with Genesis for roughly two years without any issues. I even encouraged my partner to switch from Anytime Fitness because of the great experience I had always had. Unfortunately, I now feel embarrassed for ever recommending this gym. Whenever I have made a late payment, I have always been notified clearly and charged a ten dollar late fee which is completely understandable with perfect communication. However, while my partner was also charged occasional late fees, she was never notified about any outstanding debt or the possibility of her membership being cancelled. The only reason she found out was because she tried to enter the gym one day and was denied access.

Absolutely awful experience with Genesis Sportsworld and their accounts process. I’ve been a member making regular payments, yet my account was mishandled so badly that I was wrongly chased for a debt and referred to collections. Even Genesis Accounts previously confirmed in writing that earlier “outstanding amount” notices were sent to me by mistake, then later claimed I was significantly overdue. The contradictions and admin errors are unreal. When I went into the club on 8 Nov 2025 because my tag stopped working, staff told me my membership had been cancelled and that I only owed about $144.

Best gym in cairns It feels big and spacious inside with more than enough equipment. two cardio areas and two group session rooms. Awesome outdoor area with a big swimming pool, a spa and large decent size sauna and an infrared sauna plenty of showers, and parking and lovely staff. Not mention squash courts yet I’m yet to use. And I just like the vibe here. Can’t fault at all
