Hotel is in nice location with plenty of walks around and only 2 miles from city centre. Warm welcome from friendly staff, in fact all staff we met were friendly. Check in easy but had to pay for parking. Room nice and has a large firm bed and spotless bathroom. Room was cold and the thermostat did not seem to make any difference. The reason the thermostat did not work is that the radiator had both valves shut off. Duty manager, after 3 times of asking front desk, came to room and opened both valves, but even then the thermostat did not work so in the middle of the night it got really hot in the room. A simple fix would be to add a thermostat valve attached to radiator as there is in hall way. There was black mold around the windows and a piece of the window netting had rotted. Toilet paper is the cheapest you can buy and not what you expect from a hotel that the AA give 4 stars. Spa area has nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, gym and squash court plus of course therapy rooms. There are plenty of seats and loungers around pool. Only negative would be the bridge to the jacuzzi has what appears to be hand prints on the support rail.
