I had an amazing stay at Saccharum Hotel. The service was incredible, and the attention to detail throughout the property really stood out. The design is beautiful and intentional, with thoughtful nods to the history of sugar cane reflected in every part of the hotel. The cliffside location offers stunning sea views—perfect for photos, especially at sunset. I also loved the open-concept rooms, with the bathroom integrated into the space, making everything feel larger and more elevated. There are tons of amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, multiple restaurants, a gym, spa, squash court, and even a game room. On top of that, the pricing felt like a great value for everything you get. Located in Calheta, it’s a convenient base to explore both the west side of the island and head back to Funchal. I would highly recommend staying here.
