Have been to this club a another of times on friends invitation over the years. They did have stict dress codes..and have mellowed a bit. Yes, it had the old classic British look still and still maintains the charm. Have attended birthday functions and weddings functions too and numerous get together with friends. Generally the food had been good. Today we got together at the sports bar and with just 2 people attending to the whole sports bar, and so the service was pathetic Later we moved to dining area which was lot better.

It’s the oldest and a prestigious Club in Bangalore started during British era! The Club has fairly stricter standards and regulations as regards dress code! Recently, we the classmates of engineering had a Golden Jubilee Celebration (of entering UVCE Bangalore - Civil Engineering Batch of 1974-79) arranged at Anchor Hall of this Club. Arrangement was excellent, ambience was up to the mark and found the place appropriate.

Caught up with friends here in a lovely old-world ambiance that has a quaint charm yet brings back memories of times and how we adapt to these. We were meeting friends after a long gap and the food, drinks and conversation made all of this so much more special. Also walked around the old clubhouse and stopped to see the diary entry that recorded Winston Churchill's unpaid dues to the club! Definitely a place to visit and enjoy the ambiance but remember you need to be with a Club Member and follow their dress code!

Bangalore club is truly a place to relax. The old world charm with a mix of modern conveniences makes one actually feel like being on holiday in a hill station. The location is a bonus. The simple no fuss breakfast makes life so easy. The events catering to all agr groups. Truly a holiday...
