"Im not member its really expensive"

Dan Zilic

I'm not a member - it's really expensive and full of really wealthy people, so the only time I ever go there is when there's a squash tournament on or we have a league match against their team. Nonetheless, this club is great: it has excellent facilities, free fluffy towels in the changing rooms, sauna, swimming pool, six squash court, great outside Tennis courts, a gym, etc. They also have a member's and non-member's bar and prices there are fine. Also, you have to follow their etiquette, i.e. Predominantly white clothing when playing and no torn jeans or so. I'm not really used to these type clubs coming from Germany, but it certainly has its appeal. I mean I wouldn't become a member, it's a bit too stuffy for me, but if you are looking for that type member's only club and have a bit of money over, then you go for Fitzwilliam. It's also a great place to meet people, they organise a lot of events, host Tenns Davis Cup matches, and sponsor Squash tournaments. And for Squash players: they have a great show-court, some great players, and an excellent pro shop with decent prices for rackets, equipment, and stringing. But as said, it's members-only so you can't just turn up looking for a hit.

"Post-funeral reception beautifully organised service was 5-star"

I was there for a post-funeral reception. Beautifully organised. Service was 5-star and friendly. We were in a lovely 1st floor private dining room with views over the tennis courts and in particular of the Dublin mountains! The food was hot, plentiful and delicious, served buffet-style. Congratulations on the apple pie and vanilla ice cream - simple and superb!

Nice courts, but the facilitiws were very poor and outdated. Seems to be in the middle of a refurb

"Visited the club in sep early"

Visited the Club in Sep / early this month with my wife and daughter (our 1st trip to Ireland from Singapore). Managed to play indoor tennis twice (as reciprocal member from The Tanglin Club, Singapore). We had a good time at the Club. The staff were most helpful and gracious. Thank you all for making our trip to Dublin wonderful ... Notwithstanding the Irish weather:)
