Brilliant squash club, great for all ages. Gym facilities are good, a bar serving coffee or beer and an outdoor space. Swimming pool, good and clean

Sited next to a private school just off the A12 (and not in Lexden LOL) this sports and social club has a swimming pool, 5 squash courts, small gym and three outdoor floodlit tennis hard courts, plus bar and snack area. Two tennis courts are under a bubble; however, the lighting is truly atrocious, especially when compared to the vibrant Essex Uni ones. The building housing it needs some TLC as it's quite old and a bit ramshackle. Fairly pleasant location though you can always hear the traffic nearby. A sort of down-market David Lloyd's really.
