Southland Leisure Centre
"One of the leisure centres owned"

This is one of the leisure centres owned by the city and opened in 1983 so this place is a bit worn out but there are so many activities to do here. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They have the wave pool, toddlers pool, water park, slides, steam room, hot tub. Liked the large steam rooms here and the wading pool is great for little ones. There is a cafe by the pool area accessible from the pool and outside. There is a climbing wall, skating rink, and party rooms you can rent here as well as all the gyms for sports from gymnastics to racquetball. There is also a pro shop for sporting goods. Not to mention general admission is only $29.25 for families. You can also purchase annual membership for $700.
"Great facility with splash park wave pool"

Great facility with splash park, wave pool, hot tub, sauna and kiddie pool. Fitness classes, gymnastics, rock climbing wall, skating rink, squash courts, and a top notch gym with the best equipment in the entire city. Physio and massage therapy available on the second floor. Avoid weekends if you can as it can get super crowded with family swim but the gym was quiet today. Nice and clean and parking lot was packed.

This place is awesome. A hot tub that can have 25 people in it. A diving board into a 3.2m pool. Multiple water slides a wave pool that turns on and off to allow for both lots of fun. Kids wet play area with tipping buckets and spray guns etc as well as a toddler area. Tubes available for the wave pool. Lockers available for a quarter with a strap that goes around your wrist for the key. Warm showers to rinse off after being in the Suna. Friendly staff and heaps of life guards on duty actively watching and helping
"Ive only used the squash courts here"

I've only used the squash courts here. They are functional. They are rather loud and have a big echo when you play. It would be nice if they put some sound dampening in the celing to make it a little less noisy. It is hard to see into the court, a glass wall on the back of the court would be ideal so spectators can watch the games along with some long benches on the wall behind. If you're new to the game, this is a great place to start.
"Large pool with lots of entertainment"

Large pool with lots of entertainment for children! Waves included;) prices are descent and they have cheap days on Thursdays I believe. They also have squash courts and a fitness centre although you pay for childcare when I went to ask. They also have venues for children birthdays. Attended one in 2019 and it was good. Although the room was rather dark, lighting was terrible. Just a recommendation to please put light bulbs in the room at the entrance. But I did like that you can bring the food and the cake and they take care of the rest! They had a big and fun inflatable castle 🏰.
