"What a brilliant place. I would like to give a special..."

Shelley Wylie

What a brilliant place. I would like to give a special mention to the reception, who have always been amazingly friendly and welcoming every time I go in. A special thanks to Harriet, Marie and Ben-on my first visit, I was extremely anxious and I was a bit of an emotional wreck, but these three people made my experience a very pleasant one and put me at ease instantly. Both Harriet and Marie at reception managed to stop me having an anxiety attack, with their warm welcomes and calm, reassuring nature. Ben was the lifeguard on duty at the time of me swimming and he was encouraging and even managed to get me to try the back stroke, without being pushy. I went into the centre feeling nervous and mentally twisted, but came out of there feeling accomplished and uplifted (if not a little achy for my first swimming session in years 😅). Thank you to all the staff who work there as I have never met anyone who isn't helpful or friendly-what a great team. They have a variety of activities to join for all different interests and levels. I haven't been in the gym, so not sure what that is like.

"My son and his friend did the teenage fitness pass one..."

My son and his friend did the teenage fitness pass one day during the half-term. Both boys had a great time and burnt off loads of energy. The staff at reception are amazing and will help you with booking classes/activities and membership advice if you are interested - this is not required. None of us are members but we were still able to turn up on the day and book in for swimming, table tennis, squash. (They could have done more within the price but the boys were done at this point) The lovely lady at reception even checked with us on the way out that we did not want to book any more activities and that everyone enjoyed their visit. My only disappointment is the cafe doesn't seem to open anymore.... I remember when there used to be a meal deal. As teenagers we would all spend the day doing various activities and get lunch, using up all our energy, and catching up with friends during the holidays. Lunch and refillable drinks were affordable. The whole place was full of people from school. It's was a shame to see the cafe closed and not buzzing like it used to be.
