"Genuinely can express how great this club"

Christopher Rey

Genuinely can’t express how great this club is, I live in York, and commute 45 minutes to get to Adelaide. Why the long commutes when many alternatives close by? - Staff: Everyone is incredibly lovely, well mannered, and kind. After experiences of gym’s always trying to over charge, refuse cancellations etc, Adelaide is the first club that genuinely stands behind its members and puts them first. Garth is one of the best membership directors out there, always so helpful, kind, and accommodating (I travel a lot for work and he’s always helping me with membership changes). - Facilities: If your goal is to have a great mix of cardio, strength, and squash, Adelaide is the perfect mix. Slightly smaller gym and tighter in the weight room during peak hours, but going at 6am or lunch, plenty of space. - Squash: The best part! Social, great beer leagues, easy app cooking, and Lawrence is a great teacher! Again I know in raving, but moving to Toronto last year, I was incredibly lost choosing a place. Adelaide has made every minute worth it, with a great community and just treating members like VIPs! Thank you Garth and team!

"Came here on free guest pass"

Came here on a free guest pass as a part of a local hotel’s reciprocal program. Gym is modern and well maintained, but is mediocre in many areas. Weight room is VERY small for the number of clients that workout here. If there are ten people in the weight room, it gets “crowded.” The locker room is terribly laid out. There are hundred of lockers, but only about 20-30 for “day use.” They are so small that an average sized backpack barely fits. Coats have to be on hangers outside of lockers - which could easily be stolen. Classes are mediocre and taught by apathetic instructors. I’m sure the personal training is better - there seem to be consistent training sessions happening. For a club vibe, this place will serve your needs (with a full snack bar inside). For a real, solid workout experience, I’d suggest going elsewhere.

"Always said adelaide club is the best"

I have always said Adelaide Club is the best investment I have ever made. I was a member as a young professional living and working downtown. It's an excellent place to work out and connect for busy professionals. I got one of my jobs by networking with people I met at the club. I also made many friends and my now partner through their squash program. Now that we have kids and no longer work nor live downtown, we really miss it. Some people think it's expensive but I think it's extremely great value if you ski or golf. I was able to take advantage of the reciprocals to go skiing at some private ski clubs that otherwise have quite expensive memberships.

"Good gym downtown it is small"

Definitely a good gym downtown. It is small but has what one needs. Lots of classes, and the personal trainers seemed to care. I heard them ask questions that showed true interest in helping clients. The aerobic area are separate for mens and ladies with plenty of machines. I have been here before and after work and during lunch, and it is never crowded although the strength training machine room can get more full. There is some wasted space with both a large lounge area and a cafe area. Three racquetball courts and a spa. Plenty of toiletries including after shave cream and sunscreen. In the mens locker room, they are converting one of the shower areas from open to private stalls. Unsure about the other one. Has whirlpool, sauna, and steamroom. Glad to see the guys didn't play the towel dance. I agree with other Yelp reviewers that the locker room setup with at least a 4:1 ratio of rental to day lockers is stupid - I think many of the rental lockers are unused, and it makes everyone congregate around the day lockers. Front desk staff very helpful.

Perfect place to go for a quick workout, squash, sauna, physiotherapy or a bunch of free classes during the regular workday in the financial district of downtown Toronto. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very well maintained amenities.
